The Adventure Items mod is a mod which adds special scrolls, among other items, to dungeon chests.
One of these scrolls is the Walker scroll this scroll gives speed 3 and jump 4 at the cost of hunger.
Another Scroll is the Teleportation Scroll. Right clicking it summons a window which will spin in circles. In order to use the portal, you must right click it. Depending on which way it is facing, you will teleport in that direction. The portal teleports you about 1,000 blocks, and creates a second portal where it teleports you, so that you can teleport back. This completely removes the need for minecart rails. The portals can also be moved around with a Hookshot or similar item, because Minecraft registers them as entities.
