To craft, you will need 2 sticks and 3 smooth stone to craft. 2 sticks stack up in the middle of the crafting slot vertically and three smooth stone set horizontally on the table and done, you got yourself a decorational stand.

Once the armor stand is placed, right clicking on the base will bring up a 2x2 grid plus extra square on the side. There is also a number of options to pick on how to display the stand. Nothing will have the armor appear floating. Black will have an black textured player skin. Zombie shows a zombie skin. Player shows your current skin. Char shows the default "Steve" skin. The Stalker option will make the head move so that it always faces the player, even beyond the normal body movements. The 2x2 grid is where armor is place starting from left to right, top to bottom. Helmate, Chest peice, Leggings, boots. The extra square is for the base of the display and can fit almost every block, even past the vanilla blocks. It can also be filled with slabs, ores, melon blocks, glass, crafting benches, furnaces and pressure plates.
